Candice was born in Montluçon, France. She started theater at the age of 8 years old. Candice had strong difficulties at school due to her dyslexia and dyspraxia. The theater has always been her savior and it became her passion.

She studied at Le Conservatoire d'art Dramatic d'Auvergne for 3 years and obtained at the same time, her final degreed in Hight school; a degree in theater practice.

After two years spent as an entertainer in hotels, Candice went to Paris to study theater and cinema at The Studio Alain De Bock. In the meantime, she started writing her own text and discovered a new passion as well as realizing one of her big challenges and goal, writing a piece with her dyslexia.

Candice had always dreamed to go to London and speak English, so in 2016 she decided to go. She fell in love with London, and has now been living there for 4 years. CandyOulala

Candice discovered Burlesque in 2014 when her danse teacher, a professional Burlesque dancer introduce to the class  the art of burlesque. She immediatly fell in love with it. For her Burlesque is the body freedom, it's the place where you can be what you want to be without jugement.

"I Love burlesque because it's powerful. In burlesque there are small, tall, big, tinny, slim, curvy, hairly, black, white, brown, tatood,... bodies, there's no shame in showing the bodie as it is but most of all there's no shame in showing who you are. You can choose your burlesque : classic, sensual, funny, glamorous, trash, scary, queer, trans..."

She then took burlesque more seriously in 2017 by following the cabaret dancing class at the City Academy and creat her first act, being part of her production Sckewered in April 2018.

Gazes

Producer : Impossible Theatre

Writer / Performer: Candice Morel

Director : Alexiane Cazenave

Gazes is the first original creation launched by Impossible Theatre. Inspired by the tragic life of Marilyn Monroe and by the world of burlesque shows, Candice Morel chose to write and act in a one-woman-show centered on a young Cabaret dancer in the twenties. This original play is a glamorous and thrilling piece of work written and intended for a mature audience. GAZES tells the story of a famous cabaret dancer "The fantastic Miss Penney Penney". As the story of her life unfolds we get to wonder: is her life as perfect as she says? The show mixing burlesque, dance and drama will draw the audience in a shattered life. Can we really see beyond appearances?

At : Chapel Playhouse 308-312 Grays Inn Road, Londres

31/01/2020 - 02/02/2020

Impossible Theatre aim to take this project further into festivals. Keep updated on the website

Skewered

Producer : The Paper Theatre

Director : Noelle Black / Candice Morel

Performers : Winnie Ahrin, Noelle Black, Amelia Parillon, Candice Morel

Skewered is a double bill associating Low Level Panic by Clare McIntyre with new writing: Cold Loneliness by Candice Morel, member of The Paper Theatre. Both texts focus on the same subject : “The woman”. She is depicted through female characters with very different lives and dispositions. The audience will be immersed in a realistic staging with the both texts that is counterpointed by a surreal touch. This will be encapsulated by undefined contours which will make the world hazy and unclear for the characters. Thus the audience will be seeing a fantasy world of unfulfilled dreams, in which the women of plays are drowned. We’ve decided to regroup these two texts which relate similar themes but opposing lives. Each characters could envy another her life. But no one, however, seems satisfied. Through “Skewered” we try to portray with humor and sincerity these four women, these four lives. These women, themselves are skewered by their feelings, their dreams, their physical desires, skewered by stereotypes, by death, plainly skewered by life

At : The Lion and Unicorn Theatre

42-44 Gaisford St, Kentish Town, London NW5 2ED,

9th to 14th of April 2018
